Hey!
I read an interesting article last weekend. The title is "Early childhood educators' wellbeing during the COVID-19 pandemic". The outbreak of the pandemic created additional stressors in the teacher's work. Teachers need support from school principals and other educators.
The article presents the results of a survey on teachers' well-being. The survey included two published, validated scales: The Early Childhood Professional Wellbeing Scale (ERCP) and the Student-Teacher Relationship Scale (modified). For 85.9% of respondents, the pandemic has a strong negative or slightly negative impact on well-being. Moreover, only 37% of teachers indicated negative relations with students during the pandemic. It can be assumed that despite the crisis, educators felt that they were able to maintain strong relationships with their students.
In conclusion, teachers should be supported for the role they play in promoting the social, emotional and cognitive learning of young children, as well as their well-being and proper development.
I invite you to read the article.
